Can I have a show of hands of how many of you or your staff are excited to call to try to reactivate a patient or client?

That’s what I figured!

Yes, it’s true, you have hundreds, maybe thousands more inactive patients and clients than active patients or clients.

Now what? You’re thinking, or at least someone keeps telling you, the real money is in reactivating your inactive files.

But wait a minute here. Let’s talk about why you have so many inactive files. The reason you have so many inactive files is because what you have been taught to do to convert your pain and symptom patients and clients to lifetime patients and clients is dog doodoo.

Table talk sucks and always has, and telling people you’re going to get to the root of their problem as everyone else has told them is also dog doodoo.

And if you pulled out the research card to get patients and clients to stay, you shouldn’t be surprised when that doesn’t work either. There is more research on exercise and a good diet than anything you can show them, and that has never convinced anyone to exercise or eat right.

Of course, if you would have been using the Functional Health Management Score, you’ve given patients and clients a reason to stay, and you would probably now have more active patients and clients than you would know what to do with. But you already know that.

Let’s get back to reactivating your dead files. You know why they are called dead files, right?

So if you can get people to answer their phone — unlikely, and you can get some people to respond to your texts — the new way to get a response from people who don’t want to take your calls, there will be a handful of patients and clients who say, “They have been meaning to call you” and they will come in.

Of course, coming in for a visit or two is better than not coming in, but you certainly wouldn’t call it a revenue bonanza. And yes, there are some programs out there that specialize in reactivation, and they will give you a script to use to try to reactivate some dead files. And if that sounds to you like the right program, then by all means jump on it.

However, there is a reason they stopped coming and the great majority are not coming back. So is there a better way? We think so. Simply send your Functional Health Management Score shortlink or QR code in an email, or a text message, or to all your followers on social media and ask, “How’s your health?”

Follow that with, “How do you know?” Now, rather than avoiding your call or text, curiosity will engage more inactive patients and clients than any other strategy, and they will complete your Functional Health Management Score. And when they see their score, no longer are they thinking, “If I go back, they’re going to try to convince me to come in on a regular basis again.”

Instead, they are thinking “I need to know what to do to raise my score.” And, you now have given them an entire new reason to reactivate themselves, and they do. Common sense should tell you when a patient or client reactivates themselves, it’s always better than when you reactivate them. The Functional Health Management Score is the only tool to get patients and clients to reactivate themselves.

Of course, it’s also the only tool that stops them from deactivating themselves in the first place. And that is why you need the Functional Health Management Score.
