Realize in 1992 with the invention of the fMRI, all of the beliefs of what Table-Talk could do for your practice was turned upside down. fMRI proved that getting someone to align with your belief system in what you’re sharing with them requires certain human to human (think brain to brain) skills, which are all absent with Table-Talk.

In other words, in 1992, fMRI proved that Table-Talk could not possibly work. At that moment in time, the entire profession should have stopped Table-Talk as a form of patient education. But as they say, beliefs are often rooted in early life, emotional investment, and tribalism, leading to a mental immune system that filters or rationalizes away contradictory evidence.
